Rachael and Lon had an awesome fireworks display for us. Here's Ryan and Ashley taking a look at all of them as they were being loaded. It was a fantastic show!
Lon even chose a special firework for mom. It was called One Bad Mother-In-Law! I'm sure that was the best one :-)
Lon giving Sophie and Jake rides. Jake just loved following Lon around.
And here he is... TROUBLE. haha

Aunt Candi came home from CA to introduce us to her boyfriend Brian Jo.

Candi challenged Brian to a few games on the Wii. I don't think she got beat :-)
Thanks to Rach and Lon for having us over and for their great 4th of July party. It was so fun and great to see everyone. And the food!! It was wonderful.

And the color for today is --- PURPLE!
The kids and I were making letters to send to Brad and the markers were down for a few minutes and sure enough with all of us in the room even Jacob colored himself. He's in the bathtub right now and it's not coming off very well...
So Brad - here's Jacob's picture for you :-)

World Pork Expo 2009

We just returned from the 2009 World Pork Expo in Des Moines. We got to stay there Tues - Sat. It was a great show and the kids did a wonderful job showing this year. They looked like pros out there showing.
And daddy did great again too - winning 1st in his class and Overall Reserve Champion Spot Boar that sold for $10,000!! Great job daddy!
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Here's Ashley with the winning boar.
Here's Ryan and Daddy getting his York ready to show.
And here's Jacob doing what he did most of the time, run around with the stroller. He also liked to go around with the show whips hitting people that went by.
Ashley and Ryan taking a break (from fighting...)
Here's Ashley showing her Spot barrow. She placed 5th in her class. She got beat by 3 of daddy's pigs that other people showed.
And here she is showing her Duroc gilt which placed 4th in class.
Sometimes we just had to put him behind bars :-) haha
Here's Ryan showing his York barrow. He did so good this year!
Ryan showing his Spot gilt that placed 2nd in class. He had to really work hard showing this one, she had attitude. The judge rubbed Ryan's head and told him what a great job he did keeping up with her. His gilt sold for $1700.
2nd place!

Mommy got to catch up with her friends from college - Carmen, Becki and Jen. It was so great to see everyone!
Here are all of our kids. Lily had just taken a fall before the picture was taken.
Daddy and Ryan walking up the Spot Boar to be auctioned off.
He just sold for $10,000!!
Here's the kids with their ribbons and with Daddy's trophy.

San Diego Marathon

Congratulations to my sister Candi who just finished the San Diego Marathon today placing 277th over all (out of over 23,000 runners) and 4th in her age group!!!
Her time was 3:14:47.
AMAZING!! Great job Candi. We are so proud of you :-)
We even got to see her cross the finish line via webcam they had set up.

Rodeo Parade

Saturday we went to the Rodeo Parade with Grandma Terry, Tyler & Mason. Here's a few pics.

Last Day of School

Thursday was the last day of school for Ryan and Ashley. They have a track meet each year and then get to go home early after that. I had an ISO9000 audit that day and was unable to make it to see the kids but Grandma Terry got to go and captured these pictures.
They are so great - thanks Grandma Terry!!
Here's Ashley and Kendra in the 3 legged race.
They got 3rd place and were pretty happy :-)
And here's our track star. Ryan placed 1st in the long jump - far out-jumping the other kids! He was SO proud.

Here's Ryan vs. Colton (who is in the lead). They have been practicing for these races all spring and sometimes Ryan wins and sometimes Colton wins. Ryan caught up in the end but Colton just barely beat him.
It's pretty close!!! Go Ryan!

Here's Ryan getting ready for the race.

It was a perfect day for a track meet and now it's officially summer!!! thanks again Grandma Terry!
