San Diego Marathon

Congratulations to my sister Candi who just finished the San Diego Marathon today placing 277th over all (out of over 23,000 runners) and 4th in her age group!!!

Her time was 3:14:47.

AMAZING!! Great job Candi. We are so proud of you :-)

We even got to see her cross the finish line via webcam they had set up.

Rodeo Parade

Saturday we went to the Rodeo Parade with Grandma Terry, Tyler & Mason. Here's a few pics.

Last Day of School

Thursday was the last day of school for Ryan and Ashley. They have a track meet each year and then get to go home early after that. I had an ISO9000 audit that day and was unable to make it to see the kids but Grandma Terry got to go and captured these pictures.

They are so great - thanks Grandma Terry!!

Here's Ashley and Kendra in the 3 legged race.

They got 3rd place and were pretty happy :-)
And here's our track star. Ryan placed 1st in the long jump - far out-jumping the other kids! He was SO proud.

Here's Ryan vs. Colton (who is in the lead). They have been practicing for these races all spring and sometimes Ryan wins and sometimes Colton wins. Ryan caught up in the end but Colton just barely beat him.

It's pretty close!!! Go Ryan!

Here's Ryan getting ready for the race.

It was a perfect day for a track meet and now it's officially summer!!! thanks again Grandma Terry!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma Shirley!

Today we surprised Great Grandma Shirley at her house with breakfast and her friends for her birthday.

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Ashley's 11th Birthday

Happy 11th Birthday Ashley!!

Here's Ash with the cake we had made with a picture of her and Honey. We almost had a fiasco when Ashley was taking the cake into the house Honey was jumping on her and she dropped the cake! Only the sides of the cake got any damage.

11 Candles!!

Ryan enjoyed himself.

So did Great Grandma Shirley
Everyone got to see the Expo pigs.

Here's Ryan looking like a pro showing his pig for the Expo.

Lon even got a ride in the go cart with Ryan!

Looks like they had fun! Just watch for the dog Lon...

Grandma Terry and Bappa

Deb and Max from Colorado were in town visiting and were able to come to the party. They brought their grandson Emilio.

Aunt Rachael and Uncle Lon even came! What a cute couple...

Our crazy family....
Happy Birthday Ashley!!!

Ashley's Iowa History Project

Ashley's 5th grade class was given an assignment to work on for close to 2 months and they had to do a presentation on something about Iowa. Ash choose Animals of Iowa and created a power point presentation as well as a picture collage. All of the students had their presentations on display on Friday. She got an A!

Great job Ashley!!

She even had a live exhibit - her kitten Scotch. Scotch was a big hit.
Another girl did a presentation on chickens and brought in live chicks. Jacob was afraid to touch them.

After the presentations we went out to Subway for lunch. Jacob got these cool new shades in his kids meal. As you can see Jacob, chocolate milk and cheetos create quite the mess!

Trip to Philadelphia

On Friday the 4 sisters and the parents flew out to Philadelphia, PA to visit Brad. He will be leaving this week for duty in Afghanistan and is currently training at Fort Dix, NJ.

We had a great time!! It was so much fun.

We saw the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, and the George Washington Monument. Brad, Candi and Dad even ran the stairs that Rocky ran in the movie. We had a cheese steak at Jim's in South Philadelphia.

Thank goodness for the tom tom and Candi's blackberry for directions!! We would've really gotten lost - and to think we got lost even with them.

For the entire album of pictures click on the link below. I tried to insert it as a slideshow but it doesn't want to work! Enjoy. Good luck Brad - we will miss you!!!
